But when Nicole turned 14, her dad took on a new job that required a quiet home environment – something lively and playful Chloe wasn’t suited for. Despite all the love Chloe received from the Grimes family, they reluctantly had to surrender her to the Washington Area Humane Society in Pennsylvania.
Years later, a random Facebook post unexpectedly brought Nicole back to her long-lost dog.
Seven years later, a friend of Nicole’s shared a post about a senior dog available for adoption at a local shelter. The dog’s name was Chloe, and she was 11 years old—exactly how old Nicole’s beloved Chloe would be now! To make it even more special, this dog resembled her old companion.
Without hesitation, Nicole decided to adopt her, feeling an instant connection to her former pet. The new Chloe was sweet from the moment they met, showing affection, love, and a playful spirit despite her age.
Her Familiar Lick Brought Memories Flooding Back
When Nicole first brought Chloe home, the dog greeted her with the same playful licks her old Chloe used to give. Her mannerisms, enthusiasm, and even her energy were an exact match to her childhood pet!
The resemblance was so striking that, despite her excitement, no one truly believed it could be the same dog. Determined to find out, Nicole took Chloe to Clover Farm Veterinary Services in Fredericktown, Pennsylvania, for a microchip scan. And then, the incredible truth was revealed.
The nine-digit microchip number confirmed it—this was her childhood dog, Chloe! After all these years, Nicole’s miracle had come true, reuniting her with her long-lost companion.
“That was one of the most exciting moments of my life,” Nicole shared.
Reunited After Seven Years
Now, Nicole and Chloe are making up for lost time in a new chapter of life. Chloe is now surrounded by two new family members—Nicole’s husband and their baby girl!
Through it all, Chloe is overjoyed to be with Nicole again, and although nearly a decade passed, their bond has only grown stronger.
