When Greenmore Farm Animal Rescue, a volunteer-driven non-profit organization in Pennsylvania, saw one of their adopted pups from six years ago, they assumed he had just dropped by for a visit.
But shortly after, they learned the unfortunate truth: his owners had come to surrender him because they were moving overseas and couldn’t take him with them.
“Sweet Augie has returned to the kennel, and our hearts are heavy for him. After six wonderful years in a loving home, he was brought back through no fault of his own, and the transition has been incredibly difficult. “This poor guy is feeling stressed and confused, searching for his missing family,” the rescue organization shared in a Facebook post.

The shelter was thrilled by the news and eagerly agreed to the adoption.
“But there is hope—thanks to our wonderful community, a family came forward wanting to expand their Greenmore family. In less than 24 hours, Augie found his forever home. We are incredibly grateful for your ongoing support in making these happy endings a reality,” the shelter shared in an update.
