Experiencing acts of motherly love is always heartwarming, especially when it crosses biological boundaries. Loryn, a golden retriever living on a farm with her human family, embodied this sentiment when she adopted a group of rescued baby goats.
Being surrounded by animals on the farm, Loryn was naturally drawn to the baby goats, instantly taking on a motherly role. Her owner, Andrea Holley, notes her loving nature, saying, “Loryn is truly a mother hen and treats every baby on the farm as her own.”

Andrea Holley, Loryn’s owner, describes her as “truly a mother hen,” emphasizing her nurturing nature. The recently adopted baby goats have amplified Loryn’s motherly instincts in a way Andrea had never witnessed. Now, the golden retriever and her goat companions are inseparable, spending all their time together and engaging in nearly all activities as a united family.
“Gotta keep an eye on my babies,” Loryn seems to say.

Goats are known for their friendly and affectionate nature, and they instantly took a liking to Loryn when they first met her. “They loved Loryn immediately. They spend all day together,” Andrea shared. The playful bond between the dog and the baby goats includes cuddling, napping, and playfully chasing each other around the farm.
I can’t help but feel overjoyed to have my little one by my side.
Because we are inseparable.
Loryn loves spending time with her adoptive kids, but her top priority is always their safety. Andrea shared, “Loryn is my right-hand companion and is always there to help keep the little ones together when we’re outside or gather them while they’re playing indoors.” It’s evident that Loryn sees these kids as her own and won’t be swayed from that belief. She needs to be by their side at all times.
