Who can say no to a cute baby deer with big, expressive eyes? While many of us are captivated by our pets at home, it’s essential to keep in mind the welfare of wild animals as well. Just picture the heartache of seeing one of these delicate creatures at risk of drowning!

This heartwarming story features a courageous puppy who steps up as a hero, rescuing its friend from peril. It’s a tale that will surely tug at your heartstrings and may even bring a tear to your eye, much like the affectionate licks from a loving dog.

During a walk along Long Island Sound, Mark Freeley and his golden retriever, Storm, encountered a fawn struggling in the choppy waters caused by the severe weather. The strong winds made it risky to approach the fawn, and conventional rescue methods didn’t seem suitable for the dire situation. Without a second thought, Storm took the initiative to help.

He gently lifted the baby deer by the neck and carefully pulled her to safety on dry land, where she could recover. He stood guard over both of them until the Animal Rescue League of Long Island arrived.

Startled, the fawn darted back into the water. Determined to protect her, Mark and Frank Florida from Strong Island Animal Rescue League jumped in for an intense rescue mission. Storm kept a watchful eye as they worked to save the little deer, successfully retrieving her eight minutes later using rope rescue techniques!

The frightened fawn was transported to a rescue center, where she is now resting after her traumatic experience. She is receiving treatment for ticks and an eye injury, but thanks to Storm’s swift actions, she seems to be on the road to recovery!
